shivaji park in mumbai is in news. who will get to hold dussehra meeting there?

reminds me of an event in katni. elections were on. on the penultimate day, just before the time fot the closure of election meetings, there was a rush for the most popular place in the city for holding the last meeting. parties announced their plans. but there was a catch and a clash. who will get it or whom will police permit to do it. tension was building up.

called a meeting of the four contending parties. persuaded them to share the platform, each party to get one hour before it closed at five. there was agreement but who would be the last. the only way was to draw lots. so it was all settled.

it happenned that one hour was not considered sufficient, so the parties also chose other places to hold their meetings.

on the appointed day. police arrangements were in place,  they kept waiting. surprisingly no one turned up for any meeting. they were busy elsewhere. the most popuar place remained deserted.
