climate and religion

how does climate decide your diet and your religion

it is a harsh life. you have to satisfy your hunger. it is cold all around and nothing grows but grass and bushes. nothing to eat. all you can do is to hunt the animals. cook them and eat them.

and when hunger is satisfied and it is free time, you ponder about life and the world. you see your self hunting animals, you see animals hunt other animals. the strong takes the weak. but then a stronger one takes the strong one. where does the chain end.

so you imagine one who is the mightiest.

and that is your god. religion is born.

but then he must also be hunting. without that it would be meaningless life. so you invent satan who must always be hunted and one who is always elusive.

that is your abrahmic religion.

but if the land is fed by rivers and rivulets. so many crops grow around you. and you see animals grazing them. you try some and finally find one which is palatable. meat has a substitute. and it not hard work, so you want more of it.

in leisure time (and there is more of it), thoughts go out to surmise why there are so many varities of what can be eaten by human beings and some only by the animals. who creates them? who sustains them? some one who decides.

and you have your god.

he is not a hunter, he is the creator. he does not have an enemy. he is at peace. he is benevolent.

that is your indian religion.
