another dream

another dream

this was about a meeting. as happens with dreams, i do not recall the topic of discussion. i only recall my outburst. it went like this –

what was the necessity of dropping atom bomb on japan. you were already winning the war. burma had been liberated, if you can call it liberation. how long the war would have lost _ five months, seven months. how many would have been killed – fifteen thousand, twenty  thousand. but you chose to drop the bomb. bomb was ready but it was not dropped on europe. why? because no one was sure what effect radiation would have. where would it blow? there were americans in europe. but japan was safe. no americans there; nor in the neighbourhood – korea, china. so the bombs were dropped, not one but two and ……

….. and then the tea break was announced.

no idea about about other particiapants in the meeting except one, a cadre mate from madhya pradesh – pradip bhargava. he asked me, while on way to the mess, “why are you angry”.
