Another godhra - another Canard
Congress has come out with a new story (Indian Express dated June 8, 2011) regarding the midnight outrage in Ram Lila Ground. It says that there was a conspiracy to create a Godhra like situation. Congress General Secretary Hari Prashad says that "there was a conspiracy to mobilise one lakh persons. If that had happenned, we could have witnessed Godhra like situation in Delhi."
Just what do they mean by it. If I remember right, in Godhra, the kar sevaks returning from Ayodhya by train, were burnt to death by a mob. Does the reference mean that there was a move to similarly surround and burn the pandals at Ram Lila Ground. Is this statement another irresponsible statement to be rescinded if some one objects to it or is it based on some secret information police has passed on to B. K. Hari Prasad, Congress general secretary.
If this information is from the police, the question arises whether it is based on solid secret information. If so, the nation is entitled to know who conspired. What action is taken against them? Were there preventive arrests to stop the conspiracy?
Or is it the argument that if some one threatens peaceful assembly of men, the persons threatened should be raided, teargassed and evicted and that too at midnight.
Just how many excuses the Congress people will find to justify an action which is totally indefensible, disgusting show of force, appalling lack of democratic norms, and outrageous discourtsy to citizens of India.
