hockey needs new platform

india and pakistan came out at bottom in their respective groups in olympic hockey,

I have a suggestion. the downfall of the two countries started when the artificial turf was introduced, the indian team of undivided india excelled in short passing and the two countries have inherited this technique. it is my suspicion that artificial turf was introduced to deprive the subcontinent of this advantage. we fell for it as indeed we do for everything thought of by the west. it is inbuilt in us. as a result the decline began and we have now reached the nadir.

why not start a parallel hockey system which is played on natural turf. to start with the sub continent teams can take part - india, pakistan, bangladesh, nepal, sri lanka , bhutan and may be myanmar, maldives, afghanistan and iran. the other teams can also be invited to try their luck.

logically it is not indefensible movement. every where tennis is played on hard court but france has continued with the clay court. even those who are top players do not refuse to play on clay court. it is one of the four grand slams.
